Overview of the Axis P1244
This modular network camera consists of the Axis P12 Mk II main unit and a separate Axis F1004 sensor unit to provide non-invasive, indoor surveillance in HD resolution. Additional features include Axis’ Zipstream technology, local recording to MicroSD card and support for Power-over-Ethernet.
The thumb-sized sensor unit is capable of delivering high quality HD 720p resolution at 25 frames per second (fps). It offers wide horizontal views of up to 102° and can be unobtrusively mounted in walls or ceilings with the included flush mount kit. Additionally, the main unit can be placed up to 8m away from the sensor unit using a detachable cable for flexible routing during installation.
Wide dynamic range (WDR) technology helps to improve images captured in difficult lighting by compensating for bright lights and dark shadows – ensuring individuals and objects are clearly visible. Axis Corridor Format is also included to maximise the area of interest in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream and preventing redundant areas from being recorded.
Axis Companion software is supported and offers an easy to use video management solution for up to 16 camera channels. The free software allows the recording and playback of video footage from the camera’s SD card (not included) providing a low-cost, decentralised surveillance system. Axis Companion is available as a PC client and mobile application.
A range of video motion detection and tampering alarms can be configured to alert users of activity via email whilst also triggering recording to edge storage. Alerts can also be sent directly to the user’s mobile device via the Axis Companion mobile application.
Axis' Zipstream technology helps to lower bandwidth and storage requirements by an average of up to 50%. The technology analyses video in real-time and continuously optimises the stream, reducing bandwidth by separating areas of interest to maintain at a higher quality than areas of little interest. PoE compatibility supplies the camera with both power and network connectivity over a single cable - enabling quick and cost-effective installation. Additionally, recordings can be stored locally on the MicroSD card (card not included) allowing the camera to be used as a standalone unit.
