Overview of the Axis P1405-E

Compact and outdoor-ready Axis P1405-E bullet network camera from the P14 series, with removable infrared-cut filter for true day/night capability and full HD 1080p (30 fps). Also included is a varifocal P-iris lens with wide 93° horizontal view, Corridor Format, wide dynamic range (WDR), intelligent video, dual codec, remote focus and zoom, on-board recording and PoE. Axis Companion application with 16 channels is also supported and enables remote access via smartphones and tablets.

Part of the outdoor-ready Axis P1405-E series of compact bullet cameras, the HD 1080p capable P1405-E provides 24-hour smooth video capture at up to 30 frames per second. A removable infrared-cut filter shifts the camera automatically to either full colour capture or monochrome capture depending on lighting. With a 93° horizontal view P-iris lens, the Axis P1405-E delivers wide angle, optimised images with good field depth, clarity, resolution and contrast, whilst remote focus and zoom enable fine tuning using the network interface for easy installation.

Image capture in challenging lighting conditions is enhanced further by wide dynamic range (WDR) technology that ensures detail in very bright and very dark parts of a scene are captured to enable identification. Axis Corridor Format vertically orientates the video stream in applications where the area being monitored is more vertical than horizontal, to maximise the image and reduce storage and bandwidth use as redundant areas are not recorded.

The Axis P1405-E alerts operators to activity detected using intelligent video capabilities, providing secure CCTV monitoring. On-board recording to a MicroSD card (not included), provides low-cost and removable local recording that can also be utilised as a data backup. Power is supplied to the P1405-E via the network using Power over Ethernet (PoE), which eliminates the need for separate power cables and reduces the cost of installation. Users can choose between H.264 or Motion JPEG compression depending on preference and requirements.

Up to 16 cameras can be managed using Axis Companion software, whilst the Axis Companion mobile app is also available for remote viewing via mobile devices. The P1405-E comes with an integrated wall-mount bracket in addition to an adjustable weather-shield for durable protection against harsh sunlight.
