The Axis Q6044-C is a high-end, specialist PTZ network camera providing reliable surveillance in areas subject to extreme heat at all times with true day/night capability. The IP66 and MIL-STD-810G military rated outdoor ready casing with built-in active cooling enables the Q6044-C to maintain operation in temperatures up to 75°C and withstand sandstorms. 62.9° wide viewing angle, 20° above horizon tilt and 30x optical zoom with autofocus provides powerful, effective coverage of very large areas, enabling a vehicle license plate to be read even 245m away. HD 720p video at 30 frames per second provides high quality surveillance.

Advanced imaging technologies enable the Q6044-C to capture clear, detailed images. Wide dynamic range (WDR) captures both bright highlights and dark shadows in a scene to ensure all detail is maintained. De-fog technology filters out any haze, smoke, dust or fog from images so the scene can be clearly identified, this a particularly useful feature in areas subject to frequent smoke or dust, for example factories. Electronic image stabiliser provides clearer, more useful video footage by offsetting the affects of camera movement in high winds or from vibrations.

Shock detection enables the Axis Q6044-C IP camera to trigger alarm if it has been hit, a useful feature for installations in areas at high risk of vandalism. Intelligent video provides a reliable and accurate monitoring solution, with Axis Active Gatekeeper enabling the camera to quickly and precisely move to a preset position where motion has been detected. The camera can then track the detected object for detailed event analysis.

H.264 compression offers considerable file size reduction whilst maintaining high quality video, the Q6044-C also offers Motion JPEG as an alternative compression method. Edge storage onto an integrated SD card (not included) provides a standalone security solution without dependence on centralised recording devices, ideal for remote locations. The included media converter switch enables the Q6044-C to be connected in a 'daisy-chain' to the network, this reduces installation costs and enables the connection of external alarm devices and to 12 V power.
