Overview of the Axis Q6055-C

This outdoor-ready PTZ dome captures high quality HD 1080p video at full frame rate – 24 hours a day. Part of the advanced Axis Q60 series, it includes full pan/tilt functionality and a 32x optical zoom for detailed examination of the scene. The unit features active cooling technology to enable operation in hot climates, and is also supplied with the Axis T8607 media converter switch for long distance optical fibre connection.

Designed for use in demanding applications, active cooling technology allows the camera to continuously operate in locations with high ambient temperatures of up to 75°C. Its IK10, IP66 and NEMA 4X-rated housing meets the tough, MIL-STD-810G military standard and provides protection against impact, as well as harsh weather conditions such as sandstorms.

The camera’s variable pan/tilt movements (including a 360° rotation), alongside powerful 32x optical zooming allows users to precisely navigate across large outdoor locations and examine areas of interest in closer detail. Wide dynamic range (WDR) technology ensures the capture of details in high contrast scenes, whilst automatic defog improves visibility in images captured in fog, haze or smoke.

Video motion detection alarms can be configured to alert users of activity in pre-defined areas and when combined with Axis’ Active Gatekeeper, will pan the camera to a preset position when motion is detected and then automatically track the object - ensuring all movement is captured. Basic analytics are also included, such as object counting and object removal to help enhance scene awareness and provide reliable security surveillance.

The supplied T8607 media converter switch features two I/O ports for the connection of external devices to help alarm signalling. It also allows the unit to be connected in a ‘daisy chain’ to the network using standard network or fibre optic cables – helping lower costs when installing the camera over long distances.

Axis Zipstream technology is included to help lower bandwidth and storage levels by an average of up to 50%. This advanced technology optimises the video stream in real-time, allowing important details to be retained while unnecessary data is removed. Integrated SD card storage (card not included) is included to provide a handy back-up of data in the case of network failure.
