The Panasonic i-Pro WV-SP509 IP network camera is suited to surveillance over large areas in demanding light conditions. The integrated Wide Dynamic Range software, including Panasonic's SuperDynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch features, allow the camera to pierce high-contrast or strong backlighting, while with HD 1080p resolution sharp detail is captured, even at a substantial distance.

The camera's Face SuperDynamic system changes the sensor exposure automatically, optimising light levels so that facial features are clearly defined, improving the chances of accurate identification. Its integrated SD card recording feature provides cost-effective backup, capturing up to 64GB of video during network outages. The automatic back-focus system also optimises the camera's focus, which helps to make installation simpler.

Panasonic's Variable Image Quality on Specified areas (VIQS) system optimises bandwidth use by reducing image quality on non-essential areas of the view. For low-light conditions, the WV-SP509 features day/night switching, capturing infrared light in dark conditions for improved visibility. When combined with infrared lighting, the camera becomes a true night vision solution, capturing clear detail even in complete darkness.
