Overview of the Sony SNC-XM632

A feature-rich and compact network camera with Sony’s IPELA ENGINE EX signal processing platform that integrates high-performance signal processing with video intelligence technologies, providing crisp and detailed CCTV footage under challenging light conditions and offering a range of accurate alarm detection methods. Suitable for most applications including installation in taxis, buses and coaches. Handy features include edge recording, a built-in microphone and easy mobile access.

The neat and low-profile Sony SNC-XM632 camera is ideal for non-invasive indoor and outdoor surveillance and is perfect for use in cramped environments such on ATMs, in elevators and in taxis. With a 113° wide horizontal viewing angle the SNC-XM632 captures very wide angle views at crisp HD 1080p resolution. The camera's 3-axis mechanism enables the lens unit to pan, tilt and rotate for easy and flexible adjustment of the camera angle ensuring optimum lens positioning, allowing the unit to be both wall or ceiling mounted. The Sony SNC-XM632 is IK10 and IP66 rated for vandal resistance and use outdoors.

The Sony SNC-XM632 IP camera uses advanced, electronic day/night technology, offering good low light performance whilst Sony's excellent View-DR wide dynamic technology deals very well with harsh backlighting. The camera's IPELA ENGINE EX signal processing system further provides visibility enhancement, image stabilisation and XDNR noise reduction for high-performance under darker conditions. Fitted with a built-in microphone, the Sony SNC-XM632 network camera can also capture sound in combination with the video, complementing the visual footage to assist with event analysis.

The camera's wide range of alarm detection functions include passing, intrusion, left object detection, removed object detection, tamper alarm, face detection and rule-based intelligent video analytics. The high-level video analytics provides the user with various accurate detection methods for reducing false alarms. On alarm detection the camera can automatically send notifications via email and start recording, either to a centralised recording device and / or to the on-board SD card (not included).

The user can select a variable or constant bitrate so bandwidth can be managed effectively depending on network conditions. SD card recording makes this camera ideal for use in transport as data storage is mobile and does not rely on a centralised recording system. The SNC-XM632 also complies with ISO 16750 standards making the camera suitable for use inside road vehicles such as taxis and buses. Sony's Easy IP Setup application and PoE support make installing this camera quick and simple.

All Sony X series cameras are compatible with a choice of 3 optional Sony e-Varifocal lenses, available with 83°, 51° or 25° horizontal viewing angles and enabling flexible control over focal length to provide scene coverage suitable for a wide range of surveillance applications (please select from the drop down menu above if required).
