Overview of the Sony SNT-EP154

Scalable and flexible Sony SNT-EP154 blade-style network video encoder for integrating up to 4 traditional analogue CCTV cameras into an IP video system. Features include Sony XDNR noise reduction, Visibility Enhancer, triple codec and USB data storage.

The blade form factor of the Sony SNT-EP154 network video encoder provides a scalable and space saving solution when integrating existing analogue CCTV cameras into an IP video system. Up to 4 traditional analogue CCTV camera video signals can be converted into digital video streams for transmission over an IP network. Easy to install and maintain, the SNT-EP154 can also be expanded upon with a range of mounting accessories. ONVIF compatible, this unit can integrate with IP products from different manufacturers.

Supporting D1 resolution and Sony’s advanced image enhancement technologies, the SNT-EP154 delivers high quality, polished surveillance footage. Excellent Dynamic Noise Reduction (XDNR) reduces blur in low light images and when used in combination with Visibility Enhancer (VE), achieves four times the sensitivity than when the technologies are switched off. Sony’s Dynamic Frame Integration (DFI) technology detects movement within images whilst simultaneously detecting stationary objects to reduce motion blur.

Other handy features of the Sony SNT-EP154 include flexible streaming and storage support, enabling video to be stored on a USB stick and streamed using a choice of protocol, in addition to dual-encoding and ONVIF compliance so the unit can be integrated with products from different manufacturers. H.264, MPEG-4 and JPEG compression formats are all supported at full 25/30 fps in D1 resolution.

The Sony SNT-EP154 encoder is designed for mounting in the 16 channel Sony SNT-RS1U or the 48 channel SNT-RS3U rack station.
